4 Ways 2 Siddha Deha

Foto: Kṛṣṇa a prostrar-se aos pés de Rādhā.

Existem 4 formas de alcançar Siddha Deha:

1 - Guru.

Aqui a palavra Parikalpya é extremamente importante.

Śrīla A.C.

Sim.

There are 4 ways to achieve Siddha Deha:

1 - Guru.

2 - Kṛṣṇa.

3 - By realization of chanting the Holy Name.

4 - Parikalpya (creates, builds, manufactures).

Where numbers 2,  3 and 4 are essentially the same.

By chanting the Holy Name, which is Kṛṣṇa Himself, the Sādhaka develops spiritual desires for service, and thus "creates, manufactures, and builds" (Parikalpya) his own Siddha Deha in which he meditates.

In his Sāraṅga Raṅgadā-ṭīkā to Kṛṣṇa Karṇāmṛta (by Śrī Bilvamaṅgala Ṭhākura) (3), Śrīla Kṛṣṇadāsa  Kavirāja Gosvāmī (who is Gauḍīyā Vaiṣṇava) says:

rāgānugā mārge anutpanna rati sādhaka bhaktair api svepsita siddha dehaṁ manasi parikalpya

"On the Rāgānugā path even a Sādhaka Bhakta who has no Rati yet can think and meditate of his own desired and created Siddha Deha."

Then he continues:

jāta ratīnāṁ tu svayam eva tad deha sphūrteḥ

“When Rati arises, then that body will be automatically revealed."

Here the word Parikalpya is extremely important. Parikalpya means the Siddha Deha built, manufactured, created by Sādhaka himself.

And so the Sādhaka thinks and meditates on the 11 (Ekādaśa) aspects of his Siddha Deha.

The book Śrī Gaura-Govindārcana-Smaraṇa-Paddhati of Śrīpāda Dhyānacandra Gosvāmī shows how to do it.

Number 1 refers to Siddha-praṇālī where the Guru informs the disciple of his/her Svarūpa and the disciple's Svarūpa.

In Parivāras this generally occurs in the Niṣṭhā phase, when a fixed practitioner shows interest and approaches the Guru.

At Iskcon and Gauḍīya Maṭha is more restricted and demanding. This information is only given in Āsakti, almost in Bhāva.

Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura gave Mañjarī Siddha-praṇālī to 13 disciples according to the biography Śrī Bhaktisiddhānta Vaibhava.

Śrīla A.C. Bhaktivedānta Svāmī Prabhupāda gave Bābājī only to 1 very sick disciple.

The argument given by Iskcon Gauḍīya Maṭha is that practitioners in Niṣṭhā would not yet be able to meditate on more intimate pastimes.

The counter argument given by the Parivāras is that practitioners in Niṣṭhā can perform internal service mentally but should avoid meditating on certain pastimes and advance gradually.

Siddha-praṇālī is an authentic process, as we can see, given both in the Parivāras and in Iskcon and Gauḍīya Maṭha.

Some less demanding than others.

While in some Parivāras the Guru informs about the Mañjarī Svarūpa without consulting the disciple, in other Parivāras the Guru and disciple act together to establish the Mañjarī Svarūpa, that is, the Guru finds out the disciple's preferences.

This approach would be the most accurate since the Siddha Deha is a body made from the Sādhaka's desires for service.

"If one’s preferences differ, the Guru will make changes. If on the other hand the disciple does not like it, he should openly tell his spiritual master what he would prefer. The Guru will consider the matter and give him another identity, and if the disciple likes it, also reveal his own."

(Hari-nāma Cintāmaṇi, 15.72-73)

"When the spiritual master is ascertaining the aspirant’s pure personal inclinations, the aspirant should also help the spiritual master by speaking his mind about his own preferences. As long as he has not clearly established the disciple’s inclinations, the Guru’s directions are not flawless. The inclinations that have been shaped by one’s meritorious deeds, through both this and previous lives, are called ruci or taste. This particular inclination is integral to the soul. Should a person not have a natural inclination for Śṛṅgāra-rasa, but for servitude or friendship, then he should be instructed accordingly; if not there will be undesirable consequences."

(Hari-nāma Cintāmaṇi, Notes of Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura to 15.72-73)

Siddha-praṇālī can then be received in Niṣṭhā, provided that the Sādhaka meditates only on certain pastimes. Or it may be received in Āsakti, almost in Bhāva.

Preferably, in both cases, with the common participation of Guru and disciple in the construction of spiritual identity, the Siddha Deha.

It should be noted that at Iskcon the Siddha-praṇālī system will not be instituted because Śrīla Prabhupāda created a worldwide and international movement that encompasses devotees of different moods (Rasas). However, Iskcon devotees can and should perform internal service with the Siddha Deha as explained in the Nectar of Devotion. But, it is a private, personal and reserved practice. And the association, when dealing with this topic, is made with devotees in the same mood.

At Iskcon, the process of performing internal service with Siddha Deha is from Parikalpya, the practitioner can create the Siddha Deha himself/herself, as we saw in numbers 2, 3 and 4 above.

"Haṁsadūta: So Prabhupāda, a neophyte devotee, he may think it might be very nice to be Kṛṣṇa's friend, but he may actually be a blade of grass, and be fully satisfied when he comes to that stage.

Prabhupāda: No. If he (a neophyte devotee) thinks like that, then he should cultivate  that knowledge in that way. Yes. That is described in The Nectar of Devotion and Teachings of Lord Caitanya.

Haṁsadūta: But that may not be his actual position. It may be something else.

Prabhupāda: No. But when, at the time of devotional service, if such impetuses come, that means he has got such relation. It is to be developed. That's all. That means the actual relationship with Kṛṣṇa is coming out gradually. It is being developed. So one has to develop it, following the footsteps of the Kṛṣṇa's friends in Vṛndāvana. These are described here."

Śrī Bilvamaṅgala Ṭhākura, author of the Kṛṣṇa Karṇāmṛta, did not receive Siddha-praṇālī and yet meditated on his Siddha Deha as confirmed by Śrīla Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī.
